A telephone conversation between Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Chairman of the Senate of Pakistan Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani took place on 25 September.

Satisfaction with the successful advancement of the strategic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan based on friendship and fraternity principles was voiced in the phone conversation. They underlined the special roles of the visits of President Ilham Aliyev to Pakistan, of the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and of the documents signed in deepening of the relations between the two countries.

It was said then that effective links had been built between our parliaments, too, in keeping with the spirit of the relationship of our friendly and brotherly states; our legislatures’ co-operation, bilateral and in international parliamentary organisations, was mentioned with contentment.

The phone conversation also had an exchange of opinions as to other matters of interest to both sides.
