Speakers of Parliament of Azerbaijan and Türkiye Visit Lahore

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş who are visiting in Pakistan to participate in the trilateral meeting of Speakers of Parliament have gone to the city of Lahore on 14 October.

The Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation headed by Speaker Sahiba Gafarova were welcomed at Lahore's Allama Iqbal International Airport by Chairman of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab of Pakistan Malik Ahmad Khan, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov and other officials.

During the trip, the delegations headed by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş first visited the Mausoleum of Pakistan's spiritual founder, public and political figure, philosopher and poet Allama Muhammad Iqbal in Lahore. The Speakers laid a wreath at the Mausoleum and signed the memorial book.

The visitors then proceeded to the Badshahi Mosque where they were able to appreciate the grandeur of Pakistan's historical past and religious heritage.

Subsequently, the delegations visited the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab where they familiarised themselves with the assembly's administrative building and the facilities created there.
