President of Pakistan Asif Zardari Receives Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş

President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asif Zardari has received Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş who are participating in the Third Trilateral Meeting of the Speakers of Parliament of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey in the city of Islamabad.

The meeting saw an exchange of views regarding the ties between our countries and peoples, including as regards the further strengthening of the inter-parliamentary co-operation. It was emphasised that close political contacts and successful co-operation bring our peoples and states even closer together.

At the conversation, during which the important and positive influence of the relations between our parliaments on the friendly and fraternal ties of our countries was remarked on, they high-lit the special significance that the mechanism of trilateral co-operation of the Speakers of Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey has in this respect. The successful co-operation of the legislative bodies of Azerbaijan, Pakistan and Turkey also in international parliamentary organisations was emphasised with satisfaction.

Contentment was expressed at the meeting with the existing high level of bilateral co-operation between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, as well as trilateral co-operation, and the contribution of our parliaments within these frameworks was assessed positively.

During the meeting there also was an exchange of opinions about other matters of shared interest to the parties.
