A Videoconference ‘Heydar Aliyev and a Powerful Azerbaijan’
The Milli Majlis Committee for Regional Affairs in conjunction with the Association of Urban, Settlement and Rural Municipalities of Azerbaijan held a videoconference ‘Heydar Aliyev and a Powerful Azerbaijan’ on the occasion of the 98th birthday of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.
Representatives of the Ministry of Justice Municipality Administration Centre and the Collegial Committee of Municipality Employees took part in the event alongside the members of the Milli Majlis. There were in attendance also approximately 70 urban, settlement and rural municipality heads.
Chairman of the Regional Affairs Committee Siyavush Novruzov spoke at the opening of the gathering about the great deeds by the genius of Heydar Aliyev in the name of the nation, state and statehood of Azerbaijan as well as of the Turkic and Muslim worlds. The founder of the modern Azerbaijani State, the Great Leader had our nation and state recognised internationally. Dedicating his life to his people, he had covered a path of public, political and state endeavours. Those activities, with their rich history, amount to the sublime example and most vivid manifestation of serving one’s nation and state. No matter how many books have been written about this – more research works dedicated to the subject will come to light yet, according to Mr Novruzov.
He also said proudly that the 98th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev was going to be celebrated in the ancient Shusha, in Azerbaijan that rid its lands of occupation under the leadership of the victorious Commander-in-Chief and President Heydar Aliyev. The historic Victory in the Patriotic War that lasted for 44 days was a triumph of Heydar Aliyev’s policy and the demonstration of the might of the President of Azerbaijan as a worthy successor to the Great Leader’s cause.
Next spoke Tamraz Taghiyev, Chairman of the National Association of Urban Municipalities of Azerbaijan and of the Narimanov District Municipality. He adverted to the exceptional services of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in saving Azerbaijan from the complicated situation it had found itself in during the 1990s. Mr Taghiyev also touched on the establishment of the ‘New Azerbaijan’ Party.
A member of the Milli Majlis Committee for Regional Affairs and Chairman of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan Sattar Mehbaliyev gave a talk about ‘Heydar Aliyev and the State-Building in Azerbaijan’. Mr Mehbaliyev made mention of the fact that the Great Leader had paid special attention to economic and educational development, rearing military cadres, increasing the national defence capacity, opening jobs and other as crucial matters from the very first day in power.
Alluding then to the youth policy of the Great Leader, a member of the Regional Affairs Committee Sabina Khasayeva said that the modern Azerbaijani youth consolidated around President Ilham Aliyev and possessed of both the national mentality and high intellectual level represented the outcome of the youth policy the foundation for which was laid by Heydar Aliyev.
Head of the Municipality Administration Centre of the Ministry of Justice Rahman Mammadov and Chairman of the National Association of Rural Municipalities of Azerbaijan Ali Mehdiyev, in turn, harked back to the National Leader’s role in the inception of the country’s local self-government system. They also gravitated upon the state care of the municipalities’ advancement.
Chairman of the Youth and Sports Commission of the Shirvan Municipality, a Patriotic War gazi Jalal Azizzade brought into the picture the Great Leader’s far-sighted military posture development policy. Chairman of the Vandam Municipality of the Gabala Province Asif Khasimov, in turn, underlined the care that Heydar Aliyev had been taking of the development of the provinces of the country.
There were also recollections about the Great Leaders. The speakers covered the idea of Azerbaijanism, the social justice policy, the oil strategy and the unique input in powering the Azerbaijani State up of Heydar Aliyev who had made an indelible imprint in the national history.
With that, the videoconference ‘Heydar Aliyev and a Powerful Azerbaijan’ was closed.
