Speaker of Milli Majlis meets with Speaker of Parliament of Montenegro

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova met with Speaker of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić on the sidelines of the 1st Summit of the Speakers of Parliament of Member and Partner States of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova stressed the significance of the Parliamentary Assembly as a platform in the development of inter-parliamentary co-operation and broached the successful organisation of the 1st Summit in the friendly country of Montenegro.

The parties touched upon the important role of reciprocal visits, political dialogue and inter-parliamentary contacts in the progress of the Azerbaijani-Montenegrin relations and stated their confidence of the co-operation going to be continued successfully both bilaterally and under international organisations’ auspices.

During the meeting, the Speaker of the Milli Majlis updated the colleague on the Azerbaijan-Armenia peace process. In turn, the Montenegrin side remarked that they regarded the establishment of peace in the region as a strategic victory for both countries and supported this process.

The meeting also had an exchange of opinions about other matters of joint interest.
