The official visit to Italy of the parliamentary delegation led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova began on the invitation of the Italian side on 17 May.

The delegation consists of Committee Chairman Tahir Mirkishili, Commission Chairman Eldar Guliyev, Leader of the Working Group for interparliamentary relations with Italy Azer Karimli, the MPs Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Elnur Allahverdiyev, Aghiya Nakhchivanli and Afat Hasanova, Chief of Staff of the Parliament Safa Mirzayev and other officials.

Chairman of the Italian Senate’s Standing Commission for External Relations and Emigration Vito Petrocelli, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Italy Mammad Ahmadzade and embassy employees welcomed the delegation of the Chair of the Milli Majlis at the Rome-Ciampino Airport on 17 May.

It should be mentioned that the scope of the visits includes meetings of the Chair of the Milli Majlis with the Chairs of both chambers of the Italian Parliament, the Italian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation, the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation and Co-Chairman of the joint Interstate Economic Co-operation Commission with Azerbaijan as well as members of the Friendship Group in the Italian Parliament and of the Italy-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.

The parliamentary delegation’s visit ends on 19 May.
