Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with First Deputy Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Andrey Yatskin who is visiting in our country for the 24^th meeting of the Commission on Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation between the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation.

It was emphasised at the meeting that the Co-operation Commission is an important platform for expansion of the interaction between our Parliaments and discussion of several other relevant issues, and it was observed also that the scheduled meeting had been successful and there had been useful discussions.

The successful development of the ties between the legislative bodies of the two countries was addressed during the conversation. It was remarked that the meetings of the Speakers and Members of Parliament serve a continued expansion of those relations.

Also, issues of co-operation in the format of international parliamentary organisations were reviewed, including in the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly and other international organisations.

The meeting also had an exchange of opinions regarding other matters of shared interest.
