Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova meets with Speaker of Assembly of the Republic of Mozambique

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic of the Republic of Mozambique Margarida Adamugy Talapa who is visiting in our country to participate in the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States.
They voiced ideas regarding the significance of the event and pointed out the important role of the Parliamentary Union in strengthening the ties between Muslim countries and their legislative bodies further.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova mentioned the importance of our countries’ and Parliaments’ co-operation and mutual support in the frameworks of international organisations. She provided information about the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network established at the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
The conversation addressed the issues of co-operation between Parliaments; thoughts were stated about contacts between parliamentarians and about arranging reciprocal visits.
Margarida Adamugy Talapa thanked for the high-level hospitality and shared fond impressions of the visit to our country and of the capital city of Baku. The guest lauded the importance of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union and the work done by our country to organise the event.
Mentioning the immense importance given to broadening the ties with the Milli Majlis, she said she believed that our Parliaments’ relations would contribute also to the ties between our countries.
The meeting also had an exchange of opinions about other issues of interest to both sides.
