Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova meets with Speaker of Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş on the sidelines of the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States taking place in Baku.
Contentment was expressed at the meeting with the high-level development of the fraternal and allied relations of our countries along all the vectors. It was observed that Azerbaijan and Türkiye demonstrate solidarity and brotherhood across the whole range of issues being guided by the ‘One nation, two states’ slogan of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Speaker Sahiba Gafarova remarked that it is the outcome of the fraternal relations of the Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdoğan resting on mutual respect and shared confidence and of their political will and resolve that the relations between our countries have reached their zenith.
The importance role of the Parliaments in the continuing expansion of the relations between our countries was pointed up at the meeting, and satisfaction was voiced with the level of the ties present in that field. They underlined the massive contribution to that linkage of the mutual visits and meetings of the Speakers of Parliament and of the close contacts amongst MPs. It was observed that our legislative bodies co-operate at the levels of parliamentary committees, friendship groups and parliamentary administrations. At the same time, they broached our Parliaments’ co-operation, in the bilateral and trilateral formats, and their joint activities in international parliamentary organisations.
As the conversation continued Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye Numan Kurtulmuş mentioned fondly the meeting held with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev today and shared positive impressions he had come away from it.
The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly expressed gratitude for the high level at which the 20th Session of the Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation Member States is organised and underscored the significance of this important event in terms of expanding partnerships within the frameworks of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation and a continued deepening of the relations amongst the Member States’ Parliament alike.
There was also an exchange of views at the meeting upon other matters of interest to both sides.
