Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova takes part in farewell ceremony for Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei

The delegation of Azerbaijan led by Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova arrived in the Islamic Republic of Iran on a visit on 3 July in order to take part in the farewell ceremony for the former Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei.

The delegation were welcomed at the Mehrabad International Airport of Tehran by Deputy Speaker of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of Iran Ali Nikzad, our country’s ambassador to Iran Ali Alizade and protocol service staff members.

Then, the delegation led by Speaker Sahiba Gafarova took part in the farewell ceremony at the Mosallah Complex of Tehran.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis expressed condolences on behalf of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and communicated the deep sorrow and regards of the people of Azerbaijan to the people of Iran at a meeting with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, Speaker of the Islamic Consultative of the Islamic Republic of Iran Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and other officials during the event.

It should be mentioned that the Azerbaijani delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev, Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ziyafet Asgarov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Samir Sharifov, Prime Minister of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Jabbar Musayev and other officials.
