A delegation of Azerbaijan led by the Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova visited the State of Qatar on 14 July in order to offer condolences on behalf of the Government of Azerbaijan to the Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani on the passing of the former Emir of the State of Qatar, the Father Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.

During the visit, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova took part in the condolence reception held by the Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the Lusail Palace.

The Speaker of the Milli Majlis met with the Emir of the State of Qatar His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and other officials, conveyed condolences on behalf of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and expressed the deep sorrow and respect of the Azerbaijani people.

The Azerbaijani delegation includes Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Agricultural Policy and Head of the Working Group on Interparliamentary Relations with Qatar Tahir Rzayev, member of the Working Group, Kamaladdin Gafarov and other officials.
