Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Speaker of the People’s National Assembly of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria Ms Khalida Boufedeche

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova congratulated the colleague on her election to this position and wished her success in her eventual work.

The meeting saw an exchange of views upon the prospects of the relations between the two friendly countries. The presence of sound opportunities to develop the ties between Azerbaijan and Algeria was remarked upon. Satisfaction was expressed with our countries’ successful co-operation in international organisations.

As the conversation continued, the significance of the connections between our Parliaments was underlined and it was said that mutual visits and meetings at the levels of Speakers and Members of Parliament serve the continued expansion of our relations. It was stressed in the conversation that the work done by the parliamentary friendship groups, too, plays a massive role in deepening those bonds.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova voiced contentment with our Parliaments’ successful co-operation within international parliamentary organisations. The Speaker of the Milli Majlis also shared her thoughts as to the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network established upon the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan and having achieved remarkable successes in institutional development and enhancing its international repute under the chairmanship of the Milli Majlis.

The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions about other issues of joint interest.
