Speaker of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova meets with Prime Minister of Republic of Cameroon

Speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Prime Minister of the Republic of Cameroon Joseph Dion Ngute on 1 September as part of her working visit to the Republic of Serbia.

The current condition and eventual development of our countries’ relations were discussed at the meeting.

Speaker Sahiba Gafarova said that Azerbaijan pays close attention to developing her links with the African countries. The Speaker of the Milli Majlis broached the issues of co-operation within the Non-Aligned Movement and stated her thoughts about the work done by Azerbaijan in the 4-year chairmanship tenure in this organisation as well as about the activities of the Non-Aligned Movement Parliamentary Network established upon the initiative of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Also, the present state of the bilateral relations was addressed at the meeting; they pointed at the significance of co-operation and mutual support within international organisations.

The growth prospects of the two countries’ co-operation in a number of fields as well as between the Parliaments were discussed as well; opinions were voiced as to the necessity of exchanging visits.

There was then an exchange of views regarding other issues of shared interest.
