To the PACE Summer Session

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Interparliamentary Connexions and head of delegation Samad Seyidov will lead the Azerbaijani MPs Sevinj Fataliyeva, Rafael Huseynov, Nigyar Arpadarai, Kamal Jafarov and Erkin Gadirli during their visit in Strasbourg on 19-26 June for the summer session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.  

The reports by the PACE Bureau and PACE Permanent Committee as well as a presentation by the Committee of Ministers will be heard at the session. It is also planned to discuss the monitoring findings regarding the parliamentary elections conducted in Bulgaria and Albania. Special attention will be paid to freedom of mass media, public trust and the public right to information. Besides, the agenda includes a number of pressing items concerned with the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the key items on the agenda of the PACE summer session is the Istanbul Convention ‘On Preventing and Combatting Violence against Women and Domestic Violence’.

Furthermore, the session participants will discuss the situation of the Crimean Tatars, the European policy on diasporas, countering the Afrophobia in Europe and other matters.

The members of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan will comment on the items on the session agenda to voice the relevant stances of our country.
