A Meeting at Milli Majlis

The leader of the Milli Majlis Working Group for the inter-parliamentary connexions Azerbaijan-Egypt Jeyhun Mammadov met with the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Azerbaijan Adel Ibrahim Ahmad Ibrahim on 21 June.

Welcoming the guest, the MP accentuated the attention that the leadership of the Milli Majlis pays to the parliament’s international activities and to inter-parliamentary co-operation alike. He also informed Mr Ambassador of the activities of the Working Group for the inter-parliamentary connexions with Egypt before underlining the importance of having a corresponding group formed in the Egyptian Parliament.

Referring to the common values uniting Azerbaijan and Egypt then, the Azerbaijani MP offered an opinion that there was a great potential to broaden the bilateral ties and that it was important that the bilateral co-operation should be intensified.

MP Mammadov praised the contribution that the Ambassador had made to the progress of the Azerbaijani-Egyptian relations since the beginning of his diplomatic tenure in our country and said he was certain that Mr Ambassador would spare no efforts to that end from now on, too.

In turn, Adel Ibrahim Ahmad Ibrahim expressed satisfaction with his mission in our country, told of the sincere feelings that the people of Egypt harboured for Azerbaijan and its people and promised, regarding the current inter-parliamentary relations of our countries, to do everything within its power to ensure their continued advancement.

The meeting also saw an exchange of opinions about the growth prospects of the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Egypt.
