Azerbaijani, Chilean Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Groups Met

The inter-parliamentary friendship groups of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and the Senate of Chile had a video link-up on 23 June, with the Azerbaijani side represented by the Leader of the Working Group for the inter-parliamentary connexions with Chile Azer Badamov, a group member Igbal Mammadov, our ambassador to Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Bolivia Rashad Aslanov, and other officials.

Azer Badamov spoke to refer to Azerbaijan and Chile being friendly states having maintained diplomatic relations for as long as 26 years now and enjoyed the on-going progress of their inter-parliamentary connexions as well. The MP spoke of the numerous achievements made by Azerbaijan lately; he pointed at the fine opportunities to broaden the bilateral ties and touched on the parliaments’ roles in the advancing relations.

MP Badamov also talked about the liberation of our lands by the victorious Azerbaijani Army after close to thirty years of Armenian occupation and lauded the invariable Chilean support to us in that matter.

The chairman of the Chilean Senate’s Friendship Group on Azerbaijan Senator Francisco Chahuán voiced the interest of his country in intensifying the ties with Azerbaijan and underlined the importance of reciprocal visits as he brought up the part played in the progress of the interaction by parliamentary diplomacy. Mr Chahuán also stressed the necessity of expanding the trade and the social as well as cultural co-operation.

The Azerbaijani MP Igbal Mammadov, the Chilean Senator and member of the Senate’s Friendship Group on Azerbaijan Ivan Moreira Barros, the head of the Foreign Relations Department Julio Cámara and his deputy Juan Oses shared views of the relations between our countries, too.
