Chair of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova Visits Rehab Centre for Disabled Children Built in Hungary with Heydar Aliyev Foundation’s Support
As part of their current official visit to Hungary, the Azerbaijani parliamentary delegation led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova have gone to the Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Children of the László Baranyi Institute built with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The Centre’s Director Inotay György who welcomed the parliamentary delegation of Azerbaijan told the Chair of the Milli Majlis that the Hungarian Catholic Church established the facility in 1982 with the principal mission of aiding children with visual, motoric and communicative impairments and other physical disabilities. The 2,700-m2 institution was overhauled in 1994. In continuation of its long-year charitable mission, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation came up with the proposal of having a new pavilion for the Centre, which was integrated into the other buildings of the Centre in 2015 upon completion of the construction. The 30-bed five-storey residential quarters comprise 1,385.26 m2. There are class-rooms, recreation rooms, bedrooms and a kitchen. The building is fitted with lifts.
Sahiba Gafarova noted whilst talking to the Centre personnel that the creation of such a Centre with the help of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation went to show the high standards set by the relations amongst the two friendly nations. She stressed that the Foundation bearing the name of the independent Azerbaijani State’s founder and maker, our national leader Heydar Aliyev and helmed by the Azerbaijan Republic’s First Vice President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva forever initiated and carried into life numerous fundamental charitable and humanist projects, and not solely in Azerbaijan alone but beyond its boundaries as well. The versatile philanthropic activities of the Foundation are met with high appreciation invariably.
Then, the parliamentary delegation led by Sahiba Gafarova were introduced to the workings of the Centre and met the children taking rehabilitation there. The Chair of the Milli Majlis gave the Centre a memorable gift.
