The annual session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE PA) began on 30 June. A member of the Milli Majlis, leader of the Azerbaijani delegation to the PA OSCE and the Assembly’s Vice President Azay Guliyev is leaving for Vienna on 3 July in order to attend the session and the meeting of the PA Permanent Committee.

The hybrid-format event will also be joined online by an Azeri parliamentary committee chairman Tahir Mirkishili and the MPs Agalar Valiyev, Ulviya Agayeva, Amina Agazade and Tural Ganjaliyev.

 Reports by the OSCE PA General Committees and special representatives will be heard, the international political situation will be discussed, the Assembly’s budget and work plan for the next period will be adopted and its President, Vice President and the General Committees’ officials will be elected at the session.

The General Committee on Political Affairs and Security; the General Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment; and the General Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions of the OSCE PA will also hold their meetings online. Our MPs will join those to state our country’s views and positions regarding the matters on the agendas. They will also make their remarks and suggestions be known.

The session ends on 7 July.

The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan - The state legislative power branch organ is a unicameral parliament that has 125 MPs. The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
