A Meeting with Turkish Ambassador at Parliamentary Committee for Culture
Chair of the Milli Majlis Culture Committee and a member of the Working Group for inter-parliamentary contacts Azerbaijan-Turkey Ganira Pashayeva met with the incoming Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Turkish Republic to our country Cahit Bağçı on 30 June.
There is a strategic relationship between Turkey and Azerbaijan that operates in the spirit and in concert with the philosophy of the aphorisms of the genius leaders Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and Heydar Aliyev: ‘The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, and its grief is our grief’ and ‘We are one people in two states’, Mrs Pashayeva emphasised. The Shusha Declaration signed by the state leaders Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev elevated the friendship and brotherhood to yet new heights, she added.
The co-operation of the parliaments of the fraternal countries stands out for its high level of interaction, too. Matters of shared interest are discussed regularly with the support from the chairs of both parliaments; such matters include the on-going strengthening and evolution of the bilateral cultural bonds. The fact that the Declaration manifesting our strategic partnership was signed nowhere else but in Shusha, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan, is laden with a special meaning.
The work done by the two large parliamentary working groups for mutual connexions was referred to with satisfaction at the conversation. It was said also that our MPs support each other in the influential international entities invariably and always take common stances.
Ambassador Cahit Bağçı noted that the Turkish-Azerbaijani strategic relationship rested on the historic roots. He thanked Mrs Pashayeva for the cordial reception and said that he considered a great honour to have his diplomatic mission in Azerbaijan begin in such a momentous period in history.
At the end of the meeting, Ganira Pashayeva presented Cahit Bağçı with the Khari Bulbul memory gift, an applied decorative art specimen, and wished him success in his ambassial tenure in Azerbaijan.
