Our MPs to Visit Turkey

Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Contacts Samad Seyidov will lead the MPs Asim Mollazade, Nigyar Arpadarai, Nasib Mahamaliyev and Erkin Gadirli on a visit to Ankara that is due to begin on 13 July on the invitation of Akif Çağatay Kılıç, chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Great National Assembly of Turkey.

Once in Ankara, the Milli Majlis members will join the events arranged to mark the fifth anniversary of the attempted coup d’état in Turkey of 15 July 2016 and will honour the memory of the 15th of July victims.

The president of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the GNAT chairman Mustafa Şentop and the eyewitnesses of those events are expected to speak at the assembly.

Then, our MPs will go to the part of the GNAT Building damaged in the abortive putsch, lay flowers there in memory of its victims and will acquaint themselves with a thematic exhibition.

During the same visit, the representatives of the Azerbaijani Parliament are going to visit the Anıtkabir and the Heydar Aliyev Park and have meetings and discussions with their colleagues from several GNAT committees as well as the friendship group of the Turkish Parliament.

The trip to Turkey will be over on 16 July.
