Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee for International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Connexions Samad Seyidov and Leader of the Working Group for the Azerbaijan-the Netherlands inter-parliamentary contacts Eldar Guliyev met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Azerbaijan Pauline Eizema on 12 July.

Samad Seyidov welcomed Madam Ambassador and lauded her recent trip to Fizuli and Shusha together with the diplomatic corps members. Mr Seyidov also told Ms Eizema of the Milli Majlis debate concerning the bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the Netherlands in light of the biased and one-sided resolutions that the Netherlands Parliament had passed against Azerbaijan on 18 June this year.

Working Group Leader Eldar Guliyev, in turn, noted that the States General had not reacted in any manner to the relevant appeals and dialogue offers on the part of the Milli Majlis. The Dutch Parliament had avoided any exchange of opinions whatsoever, Mr Guliyev added.

Pauline Eizema attributed the Netherlands Parliament’s failure to respond to the letters and appeals of the Milli Majlis and its one-sided decisions to the information deluge organised by Armenian Diaspora. She as ambassador relays current processes in the region as they are; differently from the parliament, the Netherlands Government manifested a well-balanced approach to such matters, according to Ms Eizema.

The future of the Azerbaijani-Netherlands inter-parliamentary co-operation and other subjects were discussed at the meeting then.
