Chairs of Azerbaijani, Turkish, Pakistani Parliaments Went to Great Leader’s Graveside and Shahids Alley

As reported earlier, the chairmen of the parliaments of Turkey and Pakistan are in Baku for the First Trilateral Meeting currently.

On 27 July, Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova, Chair of the Great National Assembly of Turkey Mustafa Şentop and Chair of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asad Qaiser went to the Alley of Honour to venerate the memory of the national leader and architect of the independent Azerbaijani State Heydar Aliyev. They installed a floral tribute at his graveside. The outstanding ophthalmic researcher Academician Zarifa Aliyeva’s memory was paid respect to as well; fresh flowers were put on her graveside.

Having arrived at the Alley of Shahids then, the parliament chairs honoured the memory of the heroic sons of the Motherland who had sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan. Their graves were adorned with flowers and a wreath was set in front of the Eternal Flame monument.

The parliament chairs also visited the Turkish Shahids’ Memorial to pay tribute to the memory of the Turkish soldiers who died as shahids in the relief of Baku in 1918. A wreath was put at the memorial; the Turkish shahids were commemorated.
