Milli Majlis Chair Sahiba Gafarova Attended Swearing-in of Iranian President

As reported earlier, Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova and the delegation she is leading are visiting in the Islamic Republic of Iran.

There, our delegation attended the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected Iranian President Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi on 5 August, alongside 115 official delegates of seventy-three countries including ten presidents of nearby countries, chairs of twenty parliaments and eleven foreign affairs ministers as well as representatives of international organisations. The ceremony took place on the premises of the Islamic Consultative Assembly.

It should be mentioned that Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi was declared the winner of the scheduled presidential election that went in Iran on 18 June. Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi had won 61.9% of votes.

The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
