Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova sent congratulatory letters to Chair of the National Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Asad Qaiser and Chair of the Pakistani Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani on 14 August.

The congratulations are extended on behalf of Mrs Gafarova and all the Milli Majlis members on the occasion of the national holiday of that country – the Independence Day of Pakistan.

It is noted in both letters that the relations between the Azerbaijan Republic and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan are rooted in their historical and cultural community whilst resting on the will of the two nations. The strategic partnership of the two countries is setting high standards, too.

Our nation treasures Pakistan’s categorical and unequivocal stance on restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity, the firm support for our just cause and the solidarity that that country has demonstrated, the messages say.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova also stated a confidence that furtherance of the co-operation between the supreme legislative bodies of the two countries – the co-operation that is based on mutual trust and support as well as on solidarity – will continue serving the cause of making our bonds of friendship and brotherhood more profound. Mrs Gafarova sent the wishes of tranquillity and prosperity to the friendly and fraternal people of Pakistan.
