Chair of Korean National Assembly Arrives in Azerbaijan

A delegation led by Park Byeong-seug, Chair of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, have arrived in Azerbaijan on an official visit on 18 August.

The Korean delegation were welcomed at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport by Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Fazail Ibrahimli, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic to Republic of  Korea Ramzi Teymurov, Republic of Korea Ambassador to Azerbaijan Republic Kim Tong Op and other officials.

It should be mentioned that the visitation programme of the Korean delegation includes a string of meetings with Azerbaijani officials. The guests will call at the Milli Majlis. There are going to be meetings with Milli Majlis Chair Sahiba Gafarova, members off the Working Group for inter-parliamentary connexions with Korea and the Korean businesspeople active in our country. Those sessions will be dedicated to developing the bilateral relations in various areas and to the prospects of inter-parliamentary ties.

The delegation members will visit the Alley of Honour and the Martyrs’ Alley, the Gobustan State History and Rock Art Reserve, the Heydar Aliyev Centre and the National Azerbaijani Carpet Museum. They will also be shown round Baku’s historical part – the Icheri Sheher.

The official visit of the delegation of the National Assembly of Republic of Korea to Azerbaijan Republic ends on 20 August.

The Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan - The state legislative power branch organ is a unicameral parliament that has 125 MPs. The MPs are elected as based on the majority electoral system by free, private and confidential vote reliant on the general, equitable and immediate suffrage. The tenure of a Milli Majlis convocation is 5 years.
