The Milli Majlis Committee of Science and Education held a meeting on 30 November.

The Committee Chairman Bakhtiyar Aliyev began with congratulating the participants of the online meeting on the de-occupation of the lands of our country and speaking of the historic victory of our triumphant Army that had followed the counter-offensive launched in response to Armenia’s attacks on Azerbaijan on 27 September. Much to the pride of our nation, the Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan ended up having to sign a capitulation paper thanks to the state policy, strong will and tenacity of the President and Commander-in-Chief of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev. Having said that, the Committee Chairman asked of Allah that our shahids’ souls should rest in peace and that the wounded soldiers and officers get well.

The resolution of the French Senate on recognition of the fictitious ‘Nagorno-Karabakh Republic’ was brought up at the online meeting, too. The participants agreed that the resolution was meant to protect Armenia, an occupier state, from the grave sanctions it has got coming for the destruction of the heritage and natural resources of Azerbaijan.

Then, the Committee members discussed the draft amendments to the Bill ‘On Education’. Bakhtiyar Aliyev gave a detailed information about them, saying that they were technical in nature and had been drawn up to concretise the terminology to be employed in the law. Besides, the amendments envisage implementation of electronic data systems in the issues of state education documents and having those documents generated by means of the ‘Centralised Education Information System.’

The Committee Members Musa Gasimli, Mushfig Mammadli, Aghiya Nakhchivanli, Anar Iskenderov, Parvin Karimzade, Eldar Guliyev, Jeyhun Mammadov, Shahin Seyidzade and Etibar Aliyev voiced their relevant opinions and proposals.

Next, they discussed the draft amendments to the laws ‘On Physical Education and Sports’, ‘On Vocational Education’ and ‘On Basic Education’. According to Mr Aliyev, the amendments aim to streamline the legislation in the concerned areas and have the state documents of professional and basic education generated with the aid of the ‘Centralised Education Information System.’

In the end, the Committee Members recommended that the Bills should be tabled at a plenary sitting of the Milli Majlis.
