A Meeting at Milli Majlis

Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis and chairman of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-parliamentary contacts Working Group Adil Aliyev met on 10 September with the visiting Chair of the International Relations, Defence and Security Committee of the Kazakh Parliament’s Mazhilis Aygul Kuspan.

Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis welcoming the guest, mentioned the centuries-old history of the friendly bonds between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and spoke praisingly of our countries continuing the traditional friendship and fraternity and promoting multi-faceted co-operation nowadays. The stress put on the mutual relations amongst the heads of state and high-level official visits and business trips bring about important steps in diverse areas and achievement of positive outcomes. The reciprocal support over matters of national interest in the global arena and in international institutions is as crucial, Mr Aliyev was saying.

Vice Speaker then spoke of Azerbaijan having won the historic victory in the dd days’ Patriotic War and our valiant Army led by Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev having terminated the thirty years’ Armenian occupation. The national territory is whole again and the conflict has been committed to history. Mr Aliyev told Mrs Kuspan that she was going to eyewitness the current realities in her forthcoming travel to Azerbaijan’s cultural capital of Shusha.

The guests were told also that the Azerbaijani State was carrying out the large-scale restoration and building work in Shusha and in the other provinces delivered from the Armenian captors. Amongst other things, our historical, religious and cultural heritage damaged by Armenian vandals is being restored.

Chair of the International Relations, Defence and Security Committee of the Kazakh Parliament’s Mazhilis Aygul Kuspan expressed her gratitude for the hospitality she enjoyed before offering her congratulations on Azerbaijan having liberated its lands in the 44-day war. She referred to the achievements made by Azerbaijan and said she was certain that the lands released from occupiers would be restored soon, as can be seen from the rapid launch of the airport of Fuzuli.

The interlocutors also underlined the importance of taking further the progress of the bilateral inter-parliamentary relations and putting on more reciprocal visits by their MPs.

The members of the Milli Majlis and of the aforementioned Committee Etibar Aliyev, Anar Mammadov, Naghif Hamzayev, Sadig Gurbanov and Fatma Yildirim, the visiting Kazakh MPs, the ambassador of Kazakhstan to our country Serjan Abdikarimov and other officials were taking part in the meeting.
