More letters from overseas parliaments to the Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova arrive to condemn further Armenian military aggression against Azerbaijan

The premeditated ceasefire violation by the Armenian armed forces and their attacks on Azerbaijan’s civilian population are condemned in the letter that the Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan Asad Qaiser sent to the Chair of the Milli Majlis recently.

The letter says it is seriously alarming that the armed forces of Armenia would target civilian communities in Azerbaijan. Such acts are the factual violation of the UN Charter and of the international humanitarian laws alike. Pakistan does not recognise Armenia as a state whilst the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has voiced concerns about the deteriorating security situation in the region of Highland Garabagh.

Condemning the Armenian aggression against the brotherly people of Azerbaijan, the Speaker of Aiwān-e-Zairīñ insists in his letter that Armenia must discontinue all hostilities for the avoidance of further steepening of the situation.

The Parliament, the Government and the people of Pakistan are supportive of the brotherly Azerbaijani people’s right of self-defence. Pakistan will continue supporting and sharing Azerbaijan’s standpoint regarding the Highland Garabakh resolution – the standpoint that is based on the UN Security Council resolutions.
