Milli Majlis Chair Sahiba Gafarova Met with Delegation of Kazakhstan Parliament
Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova received on 13 September the visiting delegation led by Chair of the International Relations, Defence and Security Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Aygul Kuspan.
Having welcomed the guests warmly, Madame Speaker touched on the high level of relations between our friendly and brotherly countries. The Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev continued with success the very ancient bonds between our nations on both countries having gained independence whilst the current leaders of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan stay on the same course firmly, according to Mrs Gafarova.
The Chair of the Milli Majlis emphasised as she was talking about the relations between the legislatures of our countries that those relations, too, were on the rise just as the bilateral links were in general. Each parliament has a friendship group in action; the two sides’ MPs exchange visits and hold periodical meetings under the auspices of the influential international parliamentary organisations, which contributes to the advancement of the bipartite relations. Mrs Gafarova highlighted our co-operation under the aegis of the TurkPA in this context.
Speaker Sahiba Gafarova proceeded to inform the visitors of Azerbaijan’s victory in the 44 days’ Patriotic War last year and of the new circumstances established in our region. The Azerbaijani Army led by Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev liberated our lands after thirty years of Armenian occupation in 2020 thus making our national territory whole again and enforcing all by itself the four resolutions of the UN Security Council. With the Garabagh Conflict committed to history now, Azerbaijan is busy working on restoring and rebuilding the freed territories, according to the Chair of the Milli Majlis. Also, Mrs Gafarova mentioned the atrocious demolition of our towns, provinces and villages and the annihilation of our historical and cultural heritage and mosques by Armenia in the lands which the invaders had held occupied. The delegation of Kazakhstan had visited the Shusha and Fuzuli provinces and could have seen the aftermath of the Armenian vandalism there for themselves, said the Chair of the Milli Majlis.
Chair of the International Relations, Defence and Security Committee of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Aygul Kuspan witnessed her gratitude for the warm welcome and hospitality before expressing the satisfaction with the current ebb of the interaction between our nations and states. The bilateral economic, cultural and humanitarian co-operation is progressing; our states’ leaders continue successfully the bonds that unite our nations, according to Mrs Kuspan.
The Chair of the Kazakh Parliament’s Mazhilis committee broached the relations between the two legislative assemblies as well and lauded the successful work done by their respective friendship groups.
Then, Aygul Kuspan congratulated Azerbaijan on its victory in the Patriotic War and deplored what she had seen during the journey to the de-occupied towns of Shusha and Fuzuli.
There was at the same meeting also an exchange of opinions about other matters of interest to both sides.
