Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis and chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Adil Aliyev joined a shahid commemoration ceremony in Neftchala Province on 6 October.

First, Adil Aliyev and head of the Neftchala provincial executive administration Mirhasan Seyidov went to the statute of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev. Then, the Deputy Speaker, the shahid families, the gazies, the provincial officials and local elders honoured the Patriotic War fallen warriors’ gravesides in the Alley of the Shahids.

Adil Aliyev said at the shahids’ anniversary commemoration event that the fearless Azerbaijani Army led by the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev had cut short the thirty-years-long occupation and repaired the territorial wholeness of the country completely. The army-building initiated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev is continued by President Ilham Aliyev successfully today. Azerbaijan has strengthened the infrastructure and facilities of the Armed Forces; our Army is furnished with the latest weapons and equipment and the combat efficiency of the contingent is heightened. The courage and valour of the regular army formed in the country allowed the nation to win the historic victory vanquishing the enemy and crushing his cloud-castle intention to create the ‘Great Armenia’.

Mr Aliyev told the shahid families that the country’s heroic sons had been annihilating the enemy contingents at the cost of their own lives; our glorious Army had been tearing Armenia’s military equipment to shreds. What equipment the enemy had left behind when bolting away from the battlefield is now on display at the Military Trophies Park.

The shahid fathers were handed at the ceremony with the ‘Iron Fist’ commemorative token – the symbol of our Victory – wrought by the executive administration of Neftchala Province

Further, Adil Aliyev and the above-said Mirhasan Seyidov visited the Alley of the Shahids in the village of Ashaghi Garamanli in the same province. Having reached the village, they attended the inauguration of the memorial house of Elimdar Safarov who was killed in action in April 2016. The heroism of Elimdar Safarov in battle, his courage and valour were talked of at the opening; prayers were said for our shahids.

At the meetings that were taking place during Adil Aliyev’s visit, the shahid family members thanked President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for their care of those people.
