Relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan are Progressing
Chairman of the International and Inter-parliamentary Relations Committee of the Milli Majlis Samad Seyidov met with Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in our country Bilal Hayee on 13 October.
Samad Seyidov greeted the visitor and proceeded to tell him that Azerbaijan and Pakistan were bonded with common values and brotherhood, and that our relations had reached the stage of strategic alliance. Azerbaijan considers it especially important to promote its relations with Pakistan further, Mr Seyidov remarked. He praised the intransigence with which Pakistan defended our cause, Pakistan’s political and moral support to our country both during the Armenian occupation of the Azerbaijani lands and when Azerbaijan was recovering those lands and making its own territory whole again during the 44-day Patriotic War.
The satisfaction with the advancement of the bilateral relations was witnessed in the course of the meeting; it was said that the close ties between our governments and nations were manifest in the interrelations of the legislative assemblies of the two countries, too. it is precisely with a view to expanding those interrelations that the First Trilateral Meeting of the chairs of the parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan was arranged, the trilateral inter-parliamentary co-operation format was incepted and the Baku Declaration was signed, Mr Seyidov pointed out.
The chairman of the Milli Majlis committee went further to talk about the new realia established in the region, the co-operation proposals of Azerbaijan that are useful for the region’s countries and the initiatives to institute sustainable peace in the region.
Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Azerbaijan Bilal Hayee greeted Azerbaijan having restored its territorial integrity and the emergence of new co-operation opportunities in this region.
They also talked over the growth prospects of the inter-parliamentary connexions and underlined the importance of broadening the political, economic, trading and cultural collaboration upon various platforms.
