A remembrance ceremony was organised on 18 October for the Azerbaijani serviceman Shaig Namig oglu Kalbiyev fallen in battles for the territorial integrity of his country.

M Aydin Huseynov, the Head of the Garadagh District Executive Authority Suleyman Mikayilov, Chairman of the NAP Garadagh District Branch Gafar Aliyev, members of the shahid’s family, gazies and members of the public took part in the proceedings.

First, they visited Shaig Kalbiyev’s graveside in the Martyrs’ Lane in the settlement of Lokbatan and paid homage to his dear memory with a minute of silence.

Shaig Kalbiyev’s participation in the engagements for Sugovushan, Jabrayil and Fuzuli was mentioned. The combat in the town of Fuzuli proved his last. The fallen hero was decorated with the ‘For the Motherland’, ‘The Valiant Warrior’ and ‘For the Liberation of Sugovushan’ medals as decreed by Commander-in-Chief and President Ilham Aliyev.

Shaig Kalbiyev’s family and friends shared recollections of him and talked about his glorious life and combat path.

The other shahids’ families and the gazies who were attending the ceremony thanked the Administration of the country for the care being taken of them.
