The remembrance day of Dostali Seymour oglu Mammadov, one of our heroes fallen in the 44 days’ Patriotic War, went in the Surakhani District on 18 October.

The members of the Milli Majlis Afat Hasanova and Etibar Aliyev, the Head of the Surakhani District Administration Aziz Azizov, the leaders of the district law enforcement and administrative authorities, enterprises and organisations, the shahid’s family, other shahids’ mothers and the local public took part in the proceedings.

Prayers were read that the soul of Dostali Mammadov rest in peace were read as they came to his final abode in the Martyrs’ Alley in the settlement of Yeni Surakhani. The assembled remembered him and the other brave sons of the Motherland fallen in the battles of the Patriotic War with great esteem.

It needs to be said that the shahid Dostali Mammadov was decorated with the medal ‘For the Motherland’ posthumously in recognition of his participation in the battles for the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic and the brilliant discharge of duties in carrying out the missions set his military unit. Besides, he was also awarded the medals ‘For the Liberation of Fuzuli’ and ‘For the Liberation of Khojavend’ for his courage and gallantry in the combat for liberation of the Fuzuli and Khojavend provinces of our country.
