The year’s wake of Major Elnur Yagub oglu Hajiyev was organised in the Ujar Province. Major Hajiyev, a native of that province, was one of the heroic sons of the country killed in the 44 days’ Patriotic War.

MP Ramil Hasan, the Head of the Ujar Administration Mansur Mammadov, the leaders of the provincial administrative and organisational units and members of the local public took part in the event. They went to the gravesides of Major Elnur Hajiyev and the other soldiers who had sacrificed their lives for the Motherland in the Martyrs’ Lane. Together with their relatives, they adorned the gravestones with flowers and said their prayers for the war’s dead. MP Ramil Hasanov met the shahids’ parents, shared in their grief and wished them grace of endurance.

Having joined the wake assembly at the home of Major Elnur Hajiyev then, MP Hasan spoke about the Patriotic War shahids having brought it to a favourable conclusion at the cost of their own lives and blood. MP Hasan then prayed that the Almighty would rest their souls merry.

Major Elnur Yagub oglu Hajiyev was posthumously decorated with the 3^rd Degree Order ‘For the Motherland Service’ and the medal ‘For the Motherland’ to relevant decrees of the president of the Azerbaijan Republic for his heroism in the action to liberate the Azerbaijani lands.
