A Shahid Remembrance Day in Gakh Province

MP Azer Karimli and the Gakh Province administration head Musa Shakiliyev joined in the paying the tribute to the precious memory of the Patriotic War shahids, the Motherland’s heroic sons Tabriz Tofig oglu Aliyev and Seymour Hajirasul oglu Mammadli.

The gathering, which included the shahids’ families, gazies and members of the local public, visited the gravesides – of Tabriz Aliyev in the town of Gakh and of Seymour Mammadli in the village of Agchay of the same province. Prayers were read for their souls. The brave ones who had fought and died for their country were remembered with the deepest esteem.

The shahid Tabriz Aliyev was decorated with the medal ‘For the Motherland’ to the relevant decrees of the President of Azerbaijan in recognition of his heroism in the battles for the territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic and for discharging his duties meritoriously.

The shahid Seymour Mammadli is decorated posthumously with the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ and ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’ by the relevant decrees of the President of Azerbaijan for his courage and heroism in action and for the duty done with merit.
