Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis Adil Aliyev together with the MPs Hikmat Mammadov, Rasim Musabeyov and Konul Nurullayeva as well as the Head of the Baku Narimanov District Administration Abdin Farzaliyev and the local public joined the commemoration of the Patriotic War hero and shahid Senior Lieutenant Azad Arif oglu Humbatov on 27 October.

Adil Aliyev spoke at the ceremony. He referred to the liberation of our lands after thirty years of occupation by the glorious Army under the unwavering leadership of President and the victorious Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev. The heroic sons of the country had taken to arms to restore her territorial integrity and forced the enemy to surrender within 44 days; such braves as Azad Humbatov had not spared their biggest possessions – their lives – for the sake of the sacred mission, Adil Aliyev was saying. The people of Azerbaijan will eternally be grateful to them for the victory in the Patriotic War as the brightest page in the splendid national history annals. Each one of us will treasure the memory of the shahids.

Incidentally, the shahid Azad Arif oglu Humbatov is decorated with the medals ‘The Patriotic War Hero’, ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’ and ‘For Liberation of Fuzuli’ to the pertaining decrees of the states’ leader in recognition of his heroism at the Patriotic War.
