Leader of the Latvian Saeima’s Friendship Group for Azerbaijan Romans Naudiņš sent Chair of Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova a Letter of V-Day Congratulations

Romans Naudiņš who leads the group of parliamentary friendship with Azerbaijan in the Saeima of Latvia has sent Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova a letter containing congratulations on the Victory Day on 8 November and on the first anniversary of the triumphant conclusion of the 44 days’ Patriotic War in which the lands of Azerbaijan were recovered after thirty years of Armenian occupation.

By restoring its territorial integrity, Azerbaijan also enforced the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council and put an end to the conflict, according to the letter.

Azerbaijan’s victory in the Patriotic War gave rise to new realia and created a historic opportunity to build sustainable peace in the region; Latvia’s Saeima welcomes the post-conflict peace and co-operation initiatives of Azerbaijan, too.

Mr Naudiņš lauds the strategic partnership established between Latvia and Azerbaijan and emphasises the importance of the firm ties that encompass many diverse co-operation areas and have bright prospects. As a leader of the Latvia-Azerbaijan friendship group of the Saeima of Latvia, Mr Naudiņš writes, he is confident that deepening of the dialogue between our legislatures will serve the continued strengthening of our partnership.
