A Free Eye Disease Check-Up in Shamkir Province

It is known full well that the state policy pursued in our country under the guidance of President Ilham Aliyev has at its heart the citizens of the country and their interests. The past years have seen practical steps taken to enhance the welfare standards of our nation; there have been projects embarked upon to ensure successful implementation of the socially-oriented political line. Large-scale social projects were fulfilled and many measures were adopted to protect the population health. The unique projects and numerous charitable actions initiated by First Vice President of Azerbaijan Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva have contributed and are contributing to those efforts invaluably.

The free-of-charge eye disease check-up that was organised in the Shamkir Province recently upon the instance of Chair of the Milli Majlis, MP for the Shamkir Town Election District No 98 Sahiba Gafarova, too, conforms to the goals of the social policy pursued in our country. Besides, it came as a strong support to all the noble undertakings in that field.

The check-up done by the highly qualified doctors of the Dünyagöz Hospital in complete accordance with the quarantine regulations were mainly aimed at shahid families, persons who lost health at the war and their relatives but, all the same, encompassed more than 240 dwellers of the province. It is reported that the patients in need of surgical intervention will undergo appropriate operations for free in the format of the same action in a matter of days.

The action participants expressed their utter pleasure with the measures taken by the State and thanked both for the check-up and for arrangement of appropriate treatment.
