Four heroic shahids of the 44 days’ Patriotic War were commemorated in Nakhchivan’s Julfa Province: Kanan Vaghif oglu Guliyev in the town of Julfa, Kanan Abdurrahman oglu Rzayev in the village of Gizilja, Miryasin Mirgafar oglu Seyidov in the village of Abragunus and Joshgun Oruj oglu Orujov in the village of Khanegan.

MP Ulviya Hamzayeva joined the ceremonies alongside the shahids’ relatives and members of the provincial public. They went to the fallen warriors’ gravesides and adorned them with flowers and said prayers for the heroes’ souls. The due tributes were paid to their memories. The assembled people talked about the soldiers’ glorious war paths and those who had known them personally shared their memories.

The shahids’ families and friends thanked the Administration of the country for the care taken of them.

Each of the four shahids is decorated with various orders and medals to the decrees of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic for their courage in the fighting for the wholeness of their Motherland and for meritorious discharge of the combat duties set before their respective detachments. The decorations include the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Liberation of Shusha’ and ‘For Military Merit’.
