The MPs Emin Hajiyev and Mushfig Mammadli joined the one year’s wake of the Patriotic War shahid Murad Yusif oglu Mammadov in the town of Sumgait and paid their respects to the family of the fallen hero.

The people who attended the wake talked about the shahid’s military service and exploits at the Patriotic War. Prayers were said for his soul. It was said then that our people had recovered their lands from the thirty-year-long occupation and celebrated its victory precisely thanks to the valour of their sons.

Murad Mammadov had volunteered for the war; he was killed in action in the battle for Gubadli on 25 October 2020.

The hero is posthumously decorated with the medal ‘For the Motherland’ to the decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic.
