A Meeting at the Parliament

A meeting of the leader of our working group for the inter-parliamentary connexions Azerbaijan-Finland Razi Nurullayev and the ambassador of Finland in Baku Kirsti Johanna Narinen took place at the Milli Majlis on 23 November.

Razi Nurullayev congratulated the ambassador who had submitted her credentials to the President of Azerbaijan the previous day with the start of her diplomatic tenure and wished her success. Azerbaijan finds its relations with Finland to be of importance, MP Nurullayev remarked before saying that it was as important to develop the bilateral inter-parliamentary co-operation.

Then, MP Nurullayev broached the subject of the grave and bitter consequences of the thirty-year-long Armenian occupation of the lands of Azerbaijan already liberated consequent to the Patriotic War. He also told Ambassador Narinen of the economic co-operation and sustainable peace-making opportunities present in the region.

Ambassador Kirsti Narinen witnessed her country’s interest in building up close co-operative ties with Azerbaijan. Finland is opposed to forcible redrawing of national borders, Mrs Narinen mentioned before saying that one should look into the future rather than the past. As regards Azerbaijan’s role in the diversification of the energy supplies to Europe, Mrs Narinen underlined the scale and grandness of the large undertakings of the official Baku.  

Then, Chairman of the Milli Majlis Health Care Committee and a member of the aforementioned working group Ahliman Amiraslanov and the other group members Etibar Aliyev, Isa Habibbayli, Ulviya Hamzayeva and Mushfig Mammadli talked about the opportunities to broaden the relations between Azerbaijan and Finland.
