As already reported, the parliamentary delegation led by Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova are in St Petersburg for the CIS IPA events.

Members of the delegation have attended the international conference ‘‘Comprehensive Coverage by Health Care Services and the Sustainable Development Goals’ and the meetings of the CIS IPA permanent commissions. To be specific, MP Nizami Safarov has joined the penal debate at the international conference, tabled reports about several model laws at the IPA plenum and joined the work of the Permanent Commission on Social Policy and Human Rights. In addition, MP Anatoliy Rafailov has attended the meeting of the same Commission whilst the MPs Rufat Guliyev, Anar Mammadov and Iltizam Yusifov were (remotely) amongst the participants of the Permanent Commission on Economy and Finance. Further, the MPs Rasim Musabeyov, Tamam Jafarova and Emin Hajiyev were actively involved in the discourse covering the agendas of the meetings of the Permanent Commission on Political Issues and International Co-operation. There, our MPs have made Azerbaijan’s stances on the tabled subjects known; they have also put forth a number of remarks and proposals of their own.

The MPs Nizami Safarov and Tamam Jafarova were awarded the CIS IPA Medal ‘Strengthening Parliamentary Co-operation’ on the sidelines of the plenum.

Chief of the Milli Majlis Staff Safa Mirzayev and the permanent representative of the Milli Majlis to the CIS IPA/CIS IPA Deputy Secretary General Aydin Jafarov took part in the proceedings in St Petersburg as well.
