A UN Parliamentary Forum on Internet Administration

The Republic of Poland hosted a virtual parliamentary forum on the Internet administration on 7-8 December that saw extensive discussions about legislative approaches to the digital space.

The Azerbaijani MPs Naghif Hamzayev and Nigyar Arpadarai took part in the forum, too.

Nigyar Arpadarai spoke of the public responsibility of social media owners and transparency of the algorithms in use on the second day of the remote gathering. The member of the Milli Majlis covered the problems that democracy encounters in the modern world, the roles of the Internet and social media in this field, abuse, lies and manipulations in social media, a social media owners’ responsibility mechanism, confidentiality of commercial interests and other topics.
