As was reported a while ago, free eye check-ups were organised upon the instance of the chair and member of the Milli Majlis for the Shamkir Town Election District No 98 Sahiba Gafarova in November. Working in keeping with the quarantine regulations, the highly qualified doctors of the Dünyagöz Hospital examined more than 240 provincial dwellers, amongst them also being members of shahid families, those who lost health at the war and members of their families. It was announced at the time of the check-ups that those residents of the province whom the doctors found to be in need of surgical treatment were going to be operated upon free of charge.

Those same people underwent gratis eye surgeries at the Dünyagöz Hospital recently. After the surgeries, those people were supplied with the medications they need and spectacles.

Chair of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova enquired after the patients’ condition and expressed her appreciation to the high-class Dünyagöz Hospital doctors for having supported this action.

The citizens in question voiced their endless satisfaction with the action taken by our State and extended their gratitude for both the check-ups and the surgical operations.

It should be mentioned that the multi-faceted social policy implemented under the guidance of the esteemed President Ilham Aliyev pursues the goals of improving the citizens’ well-being, undertaking extensive social protection measures, creating a modern-standard social infrastructure and embracing with state care and attention those citizens who require special treatment. The large-scope state programmes carried out upon the instance of the Head of State have made certain that the highest-level services are available to the citizens of the country in the health care sector today, too. There, the invaluable contribution comes from the unique projects and numerous charitable actions initiated by First Vice President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva. The free-of-charge eye-disease checks and the subsequent gratis ophthalmic operations, too, conform to the goals of the social policy pursued in the country and seek to support such noble endeavours.
