A Joint Meeting of the GUAM PA Committees
The 5th joint meeting of the GUAM PA committees took place in the videoconferencing mode on 20 December. The leader of the Milli Majlis delegation to the Assembly Elnur Allahverdiyev took part in it along the delegation members Ali Masimli, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Nasib Mahamaliyev and Javid Osmanov.
The participants of the joint meeting were discussing the current status of resolving the local conflicts in the GUAM region, the restored territorial integrity of the Azerbaijan Republic, the stalled conflicts in Georgia and Moldova and the GUAM states’ co-operation within the UN, the OSCE, the EU and their respective parliamentary entities. They also talked about the arrangements adopted to eliminate the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic and the legislative support for them, promotion of trade and economic connexions amongst the GUAM states, accomplishment of the GUAM Free Trade Zone undertaking, co-operation in cybersecurity and other matters.
