MP Arzu Naghiyev visited the shahids’ memorial in the village of Esrik Chirdakhan of Tovuz Province, talked to shahids’ families and answered their questions on 4 January. MP Naghiyev remarked during the conversation that hundreds of young men of Tovuz had fought the enemy on the Patriotic War battlefields. The shahids whose names are inscribed in the Motherland’s scrolls in golden letters are forever remembered with awe and esteem; their patriotism is an example for the coming generations, according to MP Naghiyev.

Our historic victory had been won at the cost of the blood and sacrifice of those who had fallen at the war, the law-makers pointed out before thanking the shahid families for having raised such noble and outstanding sons who had loved their Motherland so much. The people and the state will forever hold the shahids in high esteem; their families will invariably be embraced with the state care.

The shahid families thanked the Head of State Mr Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mrs Mehriban Aliyeva for the care being taken of them.
