The commemoration of the shahid Lieutenant Shahmar Nazim oglu Safarov took place in the Surakhani District of Baku. Its participants visited the fallen warrior’s graveside in the Martyrs’ Alley II; they decorated it with flower bunches and said prayers for his soul. Also, there was a moment in silence in memoriam all the shahids who had parted with their lives for the sake of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

Amongst the participants were the MPs Afat Hasanova, Sevinj Fataliyeva and Etibar Aliyev, the head of the district administration Aziz Azizov, the chairman of the NAP Surakhani branch Vugar Seyidov, the shahid’s relatives, other shahid families, gazies and representatives of the local community.

Shahmar Movsumov, born in the village of Siyagut in the Sharur Province in 1997, was killed in action on the Patriotic War’s Kalbajar front on 27 September. He is decorated with the Order of Courage, 3rd degree, and the medals ‘For the Motherland’, ‘For Distinction in Battle’ and ‘For Liberation of Kalbajar’ to the orders of the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
