Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis, leader of the parliamentary Youth and Sports Committee and head of the Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan inter-parliamentary connexions group Adil Aliyev has taken part in the international conference ‘Elbasy. Independence, Parliament’ on occasion of the First President of Kazakhstan Day convened ahead of the 30th anniversary of Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev’s nation-wide election as the first president of Kazakhstan.

Adil Aliyev brought up the historical roots of the friendly bonds between the two states and their present. The good neighbourhood, mutual trust and strategic partnership resting on the foundation laid by Elbasy Nursultan Nazarbayev and the National Leader Heydar Aliyev continue progressing today, according to Mr Aliyev’s speech. The Turkic-Speaking States’ Co-operation Council has a special part to play in the bilateral relations; its recent renaming as the Turkic Council will doubtless elevate its status further, in the opinion of Mr Aliyev.

The vice speaker underlined the input from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking States, adding that the working visit of the delegation led by the speaker of the Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova to the town of Turkestan for the 10th plenum of the TurkPA and their official trip to the town of Nur-Sultan, both in September this year, had generated an added momentum behind the two-way parliamentary co-operation.

That co-operation was discussed as Adil Aliyev met Chair of the Mazhilis of the Kazakh parliament Nurlan Nigmatulin after the international conference.
