The Disciplinary Commission of the Milli Majlis held a meeting on 27 January.

Commission Member Eldar Ibrahimov congratulated the MPs on the start of the spring session and let them know that the meeting was, in line with its agenda, about reviewing the work the commission had done in the course of the spring and autumn parliamentary sessions of 2021.

The Milli Majlis had acted very productively last year; the adoption of the Charter of the Disciplinary Commission was one of the highlights of the period, Mr Ibrahimov went on.

As regards the work done last year, all the matters brought before the commission were examined carefully and appropriate steps were then taken in strict compliance with the application legislation. Among other things, the commission endorsed the termination of the MP immunity of Eldaniz Salimov formerly elected to the parliament for the Khachmaz town constituency No 55.

Mr Ibrahimov went further to say that the commission had received 20 applications from citizens last year; the whole feedback had been examined and appropriate solutions were put in practice subsequently.

Deliberations followed. The deputy chair of the commission Fazail Agamali and the MPs Hikmat Mammadov, Malahat Ibrahimghizi, Nasib Mahamaliyev, Nizami Safarov and Mader Musayev expressed their attitude to the work done by the commission last year. They also praised the performance report, which was endorsed eventually.
