The bas-relief of the Patriotic War shahid Senior Lieutenant Sayid Rashidzade was inaugurated in the presence of Deputy Chair of the Milli Majlis/chairman of the Youth and Sports Committee Adil Aliyev, the MPs Sabir Rustamkhanli and Aghil Abbas, shahid families and members of the public at the school No 207 in Baku’s Narimanov District on 27 January.

Adil Aliyev spoke at the inauguration about the unparalleled bravery that our glorious Army led by President/Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev had shown in the battles fought for liberation of the truly, natively Azerbaijani lands from the invaders. Our lands are free again after long years of captivity thanks to the heroic sons of the Motherland; it is thanks to them that the tricolour flies over the expanses of the country proudly, Mr Aliyev continued. The memory of those who brought us that victory will live forever, according to the vice-speaker who asked that the Almighty rest the shahids’ souls merry and grant the gazies recovery from their wounds. The shahid families and the gazies alike are forever in the focus of attention and care of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva, according to the vice-speaker.

The shahid Sayid Rashidzade is decorated with the Service to the Motherland Order and the medals ‘For the Motherland’ and ‘For Liberation of Khojavend’ posthumously in recognition of his heroism.
